I was given two 100-foot unopened spools of Ansco SuperHypan Type 567 (Type II Class N) film today. It's a motion picture film with a leader and trailer. The EI rating is 250 and daylight film speed is 500. It's from at least 1960 as the labeling in the cans reference ASA standards from 1954 and 1960 for the EI and speed, respectively. They're stamped with emulsion numbers but not expiration dates. Fortunately, it's also safety film.

So -- is it usable still? So far as I know it's been stored for at least 30 years on a shelf. I'm debating if I even open it to bulk load it. Both tins are still in their original white tape. My expectation is I won't open it and will keep it as a display on my shelf.

There's very, very little information about this film that I've found on the Internet.

Usual advise is this , cut from the film, load in to your camera and shoot with different ASA settings lowest to higher and develop it . Go from there. Nobody can not predict the 50 years old film .

Sounds good. I'll give it a shot and that will let me know if it can even still hold an image. Thank you, Mustafa.

I got 200ft of what I assume to be motion picture film (just labeled Mk.V) from Ilford, expired '73 and it's still good. Does have some base fog but not terrible. Very much usable and it's around 100 ASA in sunlight.

Got it cheap so I didn't expect much and I'm very pleasantly surprised by it.
