I like using Steve Anchells formula for Ansco 47 for my 5x7 contact prints and for snapping up low contrast landscapes(wheat fields). My initail tests were great but the second batch that i mixed seems to produce a lot of base fog on J&C 200(forte). I took a blank sheet and developed it in rodinal just for comparsion and it came out nice and clear. Any clues as to what I have done wrong or how i can fix it?
The Compact Photo-Lab Index describes Ansco (GAF) 47 as a standard, clean working MQ sheet film developer (thus below the normal strength for a paper developer).
Did you remember to include the .8 grams per liter of Potassium Bromide?
You could always try adding some Potassium Bromide and/or Benzotriazole.
