Hello to everyone!

At first my English isn't good though I wanted to register at Apug because I think it's a very nice place to talk with people about analog photography. I hope you can forgive me if some of my sentences sound strange or if I use some English terms in a wrong way. I will do my best and maybe I can practise my English a little bit.

A few words about my person:
I am 27 years old and live in Vienna (Austria) where I was born too. Four years ago I have started photography, mostly analog. I have an old Yashica J5 with a standard lens and a Minolta SRT 101b with some lenses and other accessories from my grandparents. After a while I was interesting in medium format too and so I bought a Mamiya RB 67 SD with some stuff. I develop most of my films by myself. Manly I scan them but if I find time I also enlarge some pictures in the darkroom. I would say I'm still a beginner and I want to learn more to improve my images.

Regards
Thomas

Hello and welcome to APUG. Don't worth about your English, I had no trouble understanding your post. Your English is far better than my nearly nonexistent German.

Gruss Gott

We are friendly but overly fond of abbreviations and slang so your big problem may be reading, but your English will be easy for us.

and a Minolta SRT 101b with some lenses

When i was young and i used the Canon AE-1, i recall holding and trying a Minolta SRT-101, and being very impressed by the toughness, build quality, and the nice controls for stopping down the lens and raising up the mirror. It felt like a proper camera. Although i liked the AE-1 very much the SRT felt better.

I've never owned a Minolta system, but there are some great cameras there. The Minolta XE as well. Someday i'll get one.
In fact, sometimes I think that from the major japanese manufacturers -- Nikon, Canon, Minolta, Pentax -- Minolta made some of the best cameras.

Welcome to APUG. English, like any other language is just a medium of expression, And you did pretty well in your first post.
