Actually, regarding vinyl, I just saw a Modern Marvels on "Old Tech" (Nothing on film, not sure if if that is good or bad thing, though.) and they talked about vinyl. One of the producers has actually had their demand increase. They are running their record line 2 shifts a day, 6 days a week. (If I remember correctly, I deleted it already, so I cannot double check.)

So, the moral is ... Hell, I am no good with morals.

I don't know about Kodachrome, but I don't think that way about bw film, but who knows.

Despite Steinle's prominent position I don't think he's the proper authority on this issue. Many of my favorite bands still press in Vinyl for limited editions.

I don't know about Kodachrome, but I don't think that way about bw film, but who knows.

This statement discounts the artistic value of black and white. Lots of artists work in black and white, because they want to. Colour film has been around for over 70 years, if in all that time it wasn't able to eliminate black and white, who says that digital will be able to.

Kodachrome's lifespan on the other hand, even though the medium has artistic value, is limited only by the fact that Kodak, as the only supplier, is desperately trying to kill it.

Wouldn't it be funny if there were some kind of mystical metaphysical force that connected Kodak and Kodachrome in such a way that as soon as Kodachrome dies then Kodak also dies.
