Hey-This was great-Thanks Tom.
To all who were not there (and that's not too many) the Pittsburgh Symposium looks to be an excellent opportunity to meet some really creative, accomplished artists of like mind and learn a bunch of stuff in a beautiful old american city.

I heard the event was great and well organized. I had a last minute meeting that required travel on Sunday and had to give up my seat, so I am POed that I missed this event. Can someone write up a synopsis (number of attendees - I hear there were 200+ on the waiting list and lining up outside, speakers, what they talked about, etc...) for everyone else? This should be a good preview to the symposium in June.

Great job Tom and B&H! You guys are a fantastic model for volunteer conference event management.

Regards, Art.

I made photographs and took notes. I've got something else to write for next week, but after that, I'll post a writeup of the Seminar.

you'll all be glad to know that David was keeping the A in photography as he capped off shots with his 35mm on Tri-X

yes, we had a great crowd. we had just over 70 attendees who were able to get into the events room (and stayed for the entire day) though there were nearly 250 reservations. B&H did a marvelous job managing the crowd both before and during the event . I couldn't be happier with David Brommer (Events Manager), the entire B&H crew, the speakers were marvelous and the audience superb! Who could ask for more! Thanks to everyone who came out....

Topics included:
Tom Persinger: Introduction/f295
Craig Barber: The Cultural Landscape (Craig fell ill and was not able to join us!)
Jesseca Ferguson: The Photograph as Reliquary
Erin Malone: Editor, Without Lenses
Jill Enfield: The New American
Jerry Spagnoli: A History
Scott McMahon: Temporal Performances
Keliy Andersen Staley: Workshops at Center for Alternative Process (formerly CFAAHP)
Laura Blacklow: Prints from Central America
Martha Casanave: Lensless Imagery
Tom Persinger: Recap & Discussion

I made an audio recording of each speakers talk and there's been some interest (from a few speakers and attendees) to release them as free podcasts - so that may be on the horizon.... stay tuned

Even a couple of pinhole shots at the end (you'll recall that I borrowed your wobbly lectern after the speakers were finished to support the camera for 2 and 4 minute exposures--I'm in B&H and I can't find a tripod).
