Announcing full film border scanning of all types of 35mm film!

In one way or another we can now scan 35mm C41, E6, & B&W with full film edges included. As you can see below the scans have a really nice rough edge to them. This film was Fuji Reala in a Nikon F6.

We can also scan 120 E6 & B&W in full rolls with film edges included.

The point being that some people don't DIY and have film developed and scanned at a lab. This lab offers an extra option for those customers.

Scanning the rebates is also popular, and I actually find it quite attractive for 120 film. Perhaps you customers would like to know if they will get that at some point. Or I missed this and it is already on offer...

There even seems to be an Instagram filter emulating 120 film rebates for digital images and even videos. And, no, they do not use the name of a real film.

In medium format I am currently scanning B&W and E6 film with borders. C41 with borders is available for single frame scans. The color conversions would take too long to do it for full rolls at this time, but I'm always exploring a way to do it with the Frontier.

I am however scanning all types of 4x5 with the full edge included!

Where are you getting that from ? Looking at the exposure information the shutter speeds are 250th, 125th and 1000th, certainly not the same.

not.

In fact even among the 3 35mm images I posted at the top in this thread there are significant differences that would be hard to fake. For a clue, they are specific to the Nikon F6.

Scanning well is a skill that requires time and equipment. It is more productive for me to outsource scanning rather than buy a scanner and spend the time learning to master the process.

E6 is one of our more expensive services due to significantly low volume. Ektachrome has increased this somewhat, but I am hoping still see a lot more. To aid in this effort, I believe that my E6 scans are the best you can get among folks doing full roll scanning. I think you would need a drum scan or IQSmart to do better.

No mounting. The materials are hard to find, and it makes the film more difficult to scan as the frame tends to curl in the mount.

The detail and color that I'm seeing from Ektachome in particular is just wild. I will shoot this film exclusively when it's available in 120 and sheets.

Before I had seen the examples from post #10 and #15 those in #1 and also from the provided link appeared unnatural to me, with the 'Lomo' semi-natural ragged edges. I think the others are much better examples what to expect.
