You know how it is, the camera You just bought is send to You by mail, but the box contains a lot of stuff You never paid for, or wanted. Some of it might be useful, like a whole and clean ever-ready case, but most of it You throw away. Who wants a dirty and smelly camera strap?
And then we have the strange things. I once got a camera with an inner protective cover made from yellow felt, I don't know if it was meant to be the cameras permanent case. The seller / sender never told me, and I didn't ask...

Not what I've gotten, but what I've given. I have been known to include pertinent extras with my sale items, once I included a Gra-lab 300 timer with a $20 enlarger sale.

I've received random expired rolls of slide-film, most of which turned out fine. Also random lenses when the bid was only for a camera body - nothing special, but 85% were serviceable.

when people buy the stuff I put on charity sale ( or any sale, as far as that goes) I use a flat rate box. There's a lot of room in those boxes, and I have lots of small junk I'm too sensitive to just toss, but too lazy to try to sell for the pittance it would bring.

The solution, as they say, presents itself.

I've even pondered finding a mailing address of someone, somewhere, and just mailing them this crap, unasked, unanswered, no return address. I have this image of scaring the piss out of someone and the bomb squad blowing the box up, however...

Bought a Canon A1 camera only. I received a camera + an MA power winder with a FL 50/1.4 lens. They told me they had no use for them when they sold the camera and "hoping" I would not mind... All were in great shape. Shipping seemed a bit high but that was fine by me after I discovered why.

My wife, who operated a used book shop for a while, once found a partial baloney sandwich in a book that was part of a box of books she bought.
Also live and dead mice, various bugs.

I've only added to my filter, lens cap and lens paper collection with the extra's.

-) a box of Magicubes
-) a wratten gelatin filter
-) a loupe with clear socket
-) a old portrait photograph
-) a Holga poster (a hint at my criticism at Lomography?)
-) and most intriguing, a film canister from the late 50's from the Crumiere brand

I once bought a Canon EF body for £75 ($116 U.S.D.) and when I received it in the post it had a Mint Canon FD 35mm f2 Thorium lens attached, I contacted the seller who told me that she had inherited it from her uncle and the lens was no use to her and I was welcome to it.

Coincidentally, while cleaning a mess out of a spare room, I came across a body I bought a couple years ago for parts in case my camera (it was my grandfather's) ever needs a donor (I bought a lot of them).

The accessory that came with it is a 135mm lens. I'd never really looked at it before, as it was the body that I wanted. This is a Sears branded k-mount telephoto with some sort of macro focusing ring, with detents for 1:5, 1:6, and 1:7. Odd. I've not seen something like this before (though I've not seen much in the way of lenses).

I've received a few odds and ends now and then. I bought a Canon 1N-RS via ebay several years ago, body only. It arrived with a Canon EF 35mm f/2 mounted, which is something over $300 new. The AF motor was stuck though; thumped it on the floor a few times and it has worked perfectly ever since.
