Ancient Kodak enlarger Model A info needed

Hi All,

Need some help on trying to gather some information on an ancient Kodak Model A enlarger. This model is unique in that its light source is a circular fluoresent fixture. It has the oddest tilt to the head but I have a feeling it is missing something else in addition to missing the carrier. Can anyone help with any info? TIA.

If no one pops up with the info you need, you might try contacting Kodak customer service to see if they might have documentation in their archives.

Are you going to put this on ebay or something? Otherwise why would you want to waste your precious time..(I assume your time is precious, mine is) tinkering with an obsolete junker like that?

Depending on what you mean by unique. Omega made a model with the same sort of head. IIRC I think the Kodak might just be a relabeled Omega. According to the KHB site the omega head fit the B7 and B8s.

Take a look at the b8 and see if it looks similar to the Kodak.

Sometimes the value that people put on objects has nothing to do with $, but more to do with the personal satisfaction of taking something that is obselete and making a working piece out of it.

That's how I view my antique radios.

Obsolete true, but it does has a nice classic look about it. As for Ebay, I'd rather give it away to someone that can use it rather than sell it. Information on items I own is like an opiate. The more I know, the more I want to know

I have a friend who has some antique Kodak enlargers, one with a very nice glass carrier that apparently came with the enlarger!! Imagine that being true today. The only thing is, he would never use them for the actual darkroom because of their lack of modern functionality. It would be far better to shoot a neg with an antique camera, then print it on a modern enlarger. I love antique cameras and lenses, but some old crusty, wobbily enlarger on my bench is no turn-on...MHO
