Is there such a technology exist for building homemade viewfinder for anamorphic pinhole camera as camera sees ?

I think in Rudolph Kingslake's last book there is a description of a two-slit system that would do that. I will look when I get back to the lab next week. As I recall, there are two crossed slits, with a space in between.

I still have not found that particular reference, but in the course of looking for it, I found this interesting review text. You might know it already. I think the Kingslake book I need is in the lab, and I have been away for a couple of days and because of snow did not go in today.

As Bob stated, an anamorphic pinhole is two slits perpendicular to each other at different distances to the image plane.
