A local producer, Matt Mangham is doing a series of short films on photographers here in the southern California region, specifically on analog users.

I make a short cameo in this one, which is about Juan Martinez who started a Beers & Cameras group here in San Diego. Lots of film cameras show up at the bi-weekly meetings, along with a good number of digital. But it's neat to see what comes out of the woodwork.

Great video, thanks for posting. You can step inside the Blind Lady on Google Maps. Pretty cool neighborhood joint. I was just on Adams Ave a couple weeks ago to visit Camera Exposure.

I did not like it. It seems that much too often when people talk about analogue photography they end up showing out-of-focus images with sick colours resembling a faded 20-years-old Polaroid or a badly inverted negative. OK I get the message is that it is "different" from digital, but that's not the way it is supposed to be different. Why not underscoring the good technical qualities of film, why not showing good properly taken pictures in film, rather than this "Instagram filter" appearance? It gives a very bad idea of what film is IMHO.
People might end up thinking that the sky is not skyblue in film.

I live a block away from Blind Lady!

I agree about not having to show the expired film look, but if that's what gets/keeps people shooting film and supporting the infrastructure, I am all for it!

Hhhmmmmm..... I just watched them, I thought they were pretty good. Not an depth documentary... just well done "human interest" stories that center on people and film cameras.
Seems like it would be a good fit for this forum.?
