Hey there! Re-entering the world of analog photography after nearly 10 years gone and am happy to report that the romance has returned to shooting again. Got so used to blasting off auto-bracketed shots at the touch of a button and speed-parsing in the digital darkroom that I forgot how to have fun in the limit of 36 and only snap good frames.

Been developing again for the last month and am about to start using a public darkroom at PCNW for printing here in Seattle. Shooting mostly with a Minolta CLE I picked up and am having a blast -- it's my first film rangefinder. If there are any other Seattleites out there please say hello!

Edit: Also if you're in Seattle today is the opening of the Mary Ellen Mark exhibit at SPL. Check it out!

Hello, piffey. You're in a good group now, so make sure you focus on having fun with your photography. I've been to PCNW, but not for darkroom use, since I have my own Man Cave.
Cheers.

Welcome piffey, I'm just North of you in Bothell. I don't do any darkroom printing but I do develop my black and white film. I shoot every format from 8mm to 4x5.

I live in the Seattle area. I have my own small darkroom. I process all my own film but do limited darkroom work and do mainly a hybrid workflow (analog film/digital print). As soon as the rain comes (like this weekend) I plan to work more in my darkroom. Craigslist is choked full of great darkroom equipment at giveaway prices.

Welcome.

I'm to your northeast, in Duvall. Meeting up with msage at Glazer's tomorrow afternoon to sell him some gear that I'm not using. Close to BAC1967 is Ralph Javins. He also is in Bothell. flatulent_1 lives in Shoreline, Brian Legge is in Kirkland...

Welcome:

From that country north of you.

I'll be down your way on Monday, to see the Jays vs. the Mariners.

Sounds like there's a lot of us in the Pacific Northwest! Thanks for the warm welcome all. Spent the first 3 hours in a darkroom printing in over 10 years last night -- and damn it felt good! Good to be back in the analog land. Looking forward to all I can learn on these forums.
