I was about to say that based on the silver tab it looks like an RF lens. It could also be that some part of the rear of the mount is missing.

Looks like a Nikon S or Contax rangefinder mount to me.

Yup. Here is the mount of my Carl Zeiss Jena 13,5cm/4 Sonnar that mounts my Contax IIIa. Seems a match to me.

You can see an upside down N stamped just above the word JAPAN in the first image.

Hence, Nikon calibrated S mount. If there was a C, it would be Contax RF.

Should be a very nice lens.

Ah, good point Fixinater. While most wide lenses can be used and mounted on either Nikon RF or Contax RF body (at least with acceptable/semi-acceptable results if stopped down at least 1-2 stops) the normal to tele lenses are best used as to which its calibrated for. Forgot about that.

Thank you rich815 for identifying this. Your photo is identical to what I have. - David Lyga

Yes, but be sure not to miss Fixcinater's post above. Contax RF and Nikon RF had in essence identical mounts but differences which are important for normal-tele lenses. You have a Nikon RF lens, not a Contax RF one.

Thank you, rich815, however I don't even have a camera to mount it on. - David Lyga
