I know someone who worked for Forte and visits Hungary yearly. He told me some time ago it was shuttered and not to be reopened.

It seems really funny that B+H the last time I looked had the full line of Forte papers in stock.Several English suppliers had it as well. What's up with that?

'Old' inventory or lazy data management?

Even if production has been ceased it may take awhile for it to be cleared off of store shelves. I believe B+H still has Tech pan in 4x5 but it has obviously been awhile since production was stopped.

There are others with image setters, Brooks. Aggie mentioned the lady in Boise, and Paula and I use our printer in Belgium who has an image setter that can set 600-line screens. Yes, his service contracts are horrendous. $1,000 euros for someone just to show up--before they even do anything, but he is committed to making absolutely no compromises and may be willing to make digital negatives for you. If he is so willing there will be no streaks. He keeps his equipment as perfectly tuned as it is humanely possible to do so. If you are interested in his contact information send me an email. You know my email address.

Hi Brooks and Maureen,

I'm sure there are more personal reasons for your decision than you're willing to share with the likes of us ! Have fun with all that free time, and in applying yourself to whatever it is that's more important than the monies generated by the LensWork Special Editions.

LensWork is the only photography magazine I've ever subscribed to. I don't know what people mean when they talk about "disposable income"...lets just say it's a good thing my subscription gets renewed right before my birthday. Keep up the GOOD WORK!!

Did you read the original post? The publication isn't going anywhere, they are just discontinuing the silver gelatin special edition prints.

I am sorry to hear about LensWork's discontinued special editions, but I am very happy to hear that LensWork the magazine will live on, it is my absolute favorite, because it never fails to advise me and inspire me, thank you so very much for all your hard work, and I will be asking for a three year subscription for my upcoming birthday!

Cheers,
Krystyna
