And that's a good thing. These boxes were never intended for use with constant lighting and would probably burst into flame had you managed to rig your Lowel lights up with them. The soft boxes intended for use with quartz lighting are made of much heavier and more fire retardant material than these units which were designed to be use with strobe lights. Its been a lot of years but as I recall the quartz soft boxes I used when working with a commerical photographer in the 80's had metal frames and some sort of high temp plastic diffusers and were quite heavy. And they also were rated at over 2000 watts per unit. Thats a lot of heat.
