I see them listed at Henry's (Canada) for a fantastic price but have never seen one on display locally.
Love to get some feedback from any members who have used one.

Not a fan. Most of their support products are Manfrotto knock-offs. You get what you pay for and I've never been sorry owning Manfrotto monopods, tripods, or heads. Not sure CF for a monopod is worth it. Have the 2 section Manfrotto 434B--their sturdiest--and love it. Any more than 2 sections and you're endlessly fiddling with 3-4 locks to get the right height.

As I understand it, Amvona is out of business - I think Henry's bought all their remaining stock when they closed.

I have an Amvona tripod and pistol grip head combination that has functioned well for years with my medium format cameras, but as I understand it their quality control was somewhat inconsistent.

I would agree with CGW about the number of sections in a monopod with one qualification. If you are intending to use a monopod when travelling, or want one that will store unobtrusively, the 3 or 4 section models collapse to a smaller overall length.

We have had Amvona light tracks and roller backgrounds in our studio for over two years now and they have been great. That being said, I have a Manfrotto monopod that gets not very much use, but it's a three section metal, plenty light, and I'll never need to buy another one.

I lent my 'frotto to a friend who had it boosted from her car.
Looks like I go brand name.As the old saying goes,"If it looks too good to be true..................
