Ian, what time do you use for fixing film? i plan to mix some Agfa 304 this weekend and want to use it for Ilford Pan F (old bulk 35mm film) and Ultra Fine Xtreme 400. Any recommendations? Thank you. Jon

Based on relatively short fixing times, I suspect TT Vario Fix contains some ammonium salts as well.

I usually fix films for 3-4 mins, essentially it must be at least twice the clearing time, so as my film fix gets used I use some old film to check the clearing time. With 35mm use the leader.

I don't recall the comment either before I refereed to Mason on Saturday. I do remember seeing a Fixer MSDS in the last couple of months and noticing both Ammonium and Sodium Thiosulphate were present in about that same 80% - 20% ratio and being surprised. Off hand I can't remember what brand of fixer.
