Amidol in EU

Quality is quite good. It is chinese amidol and leave some dust in solution that don't create problems to the prints. If don't like to work with a dirty solution it can be easily filtred, but I don't care and prints are clean and without stains.

I was told by Keten employee it wasn't chinese....

For what it's worth, Mike Johnson at Artcraft Chemicals here in the states gets his Amidol from the UK. I don't know where, but he lists it as "English" and sells it for $105/ half pound. It works without the mess associated with the Chinese amidol.

Good luck,

Mike Jacobson is the owner and founder or Artcraft Chemicals. And his amidol is much nicer to work with than the Chinese stuff. I'd recommend starting with it if you've never used amidol before, as the mess and inconvenience of the Chinese stuff might turn you off to the whole process.

I'd like to say Thank you for all recommendations.
I've already got Amidol from Keten (Poland) cca 120€/250g and my hometown supplier (Bratislava, Slovakia) 120€/100g. Both have completely different consistency. While more expensive has crystalline the cheaper one looks amorphous -like ground rubber. I wonder if they act differently in the darkroom....

Nice contact was Suvatlar, I've ordered glycin from them

Can you post what they charge for Glycin? And for shipping within EU?

The Glycin Suvatlar sells is from Photographers Formulary. I also ordered it directly from them which worked just fine.

Wow, thanks for recommending Suvatlar, it turns out that Suvatlar are the chem experts Moersch uses to mix their brews. Moersch has a PDF price list for their chems in case anyone is interested. They list HAS, CD3 and CD4 amongst other chems so they may be worth looking at.
