Some people describes it as creamy tones. I watched a youtube video which shows how ambrotype glass negatives might be coated with asphaltum , it was a dang moment , everything was exactly what I was after.

and I loved the look and tones , warm , creamy tones of ambrotypes with asphaltum backing.
I think there are reasons,
I have posted a article
there was a url link here which no longer exists)
and that article shows orthochromatic glass negatives have a special effect , they render panchromatic bw dark tones as light healthy and very detailed tones.
And the other effect could come from asphaltum , bone black tone.
What do you say for the asphaltum ? Do every black enamel paint is capable to do that effect or is there a creamy tone effect with glass negative ?
