Amongst those front, wide-angle attachments I got is one Japan made

Lightvision Superwide AF Macro 0.42X

that has got two front groups that are dark amber.

Any ideas on that tinting?

Perhaps a filter to minimize the non-IR wavelengths.

Both groups are quite massive. The density is quite high.

The attachment would make a good decoration in a whiskey ad...

Glass amber tinting is the most widely done thing with the blue scandinavian tinting in studio glass making. And it is the most basic thing to do , an skilled artisan apply the coating with water color brush and in few hours it is ready. Before I found an english company which is the only producers of these tints in the world now and their history goes back 150 years , I was thinking it is a different glasses match. No such a technology , its only gold, copper, silver nanopowder added solution and its developed to point everyone can apply.

At drum scanner , when you keep cyan , magenta, yellow equal it makes brown. I bet that tint added like they tint the colormatic glasses to increase the saturation of pictures. It works equally good at bw also. IMHO some of the best images of Ansel Adams with deep orange brownish tint and red filters. I used colormatic eye glasses and especially reds comes so strong , highlights tamed.
