Alright, got the 6x7 from Japan ebay!!

Woop! So excited!!
It's a much older model, not light meter prism. Which is fine, I can do sunny 16. And a light meter.

I've loaded film but I have a question about it.

This one, doesn't have the red 120 arrow on it. It has a red dot and it is to the left of all the pics I've seen of the inside of the P67. So does the 120 film arrows line up on the red dot?

I put the arrow where I thought the red arrow would be on new ones, and the counter went past 0 before it stopped cocking.

Also, I got a 75mm from Japan. Rough outside. And seller said "many scratches on front element". ($52 buck, yeah, 52 for a 75mm) When I got it, I swear I can't find a scratch on the front. Guessing Japan has a much higher standard like higher than KEH standard! I've bought BGN grade from Keh and it looked brand new.

I’ve only had good experiences using eBay from Japan. Local buys via Gumtree not as good.

I have also had consistent good luck with Japanese ebay sellers.

And, I agree that KEH does a great job of not over-rating the condition of equipment they sell. Certainly my domestic favorite dealer.

IIRC (Pentax 6x7 non MLU) there where two marks/dots - a green one on the left (120) and a red one one the right (220) ... Maybe it will be better to pay a visit to Mike Butkus and take a look for the manual.

Well, I made the experience that the exact starting point, speaking in millimeters, is not really important.
The camera, in my case a second generation Pentax 6x7 with mirror lock up, auto senses the starting point of the film, sometimes it is further to the start of the film strip,
sometimes it is slightly further back and I have barely any room left on the film strip.
There has never been the case that the last picture touched the end of the film, I always had some room to fit a film clamp.

I've attached two pictures of the inside of my camera, does yours look different? Which version do you have?

By the by, I bought my smc 4/55 from Japan, it was in perfect condition, looks unused an the seller also threw in express shipping free of charge.
That was my second purchase from Japan without any problems.

I,m headed out in about an hour with a P67 and 165 lens in a shoulder bag, with the tripod over my shoulder. The 55 is a very sharp lens, but expect some illumination falloff toward the corners, typical of wide-angle lenses.

Congratulations on your new kit.The Pentax 6X7 was my first medium format camera. Never could understand why it was not more popular.
