I am once again selling off some more Alpa gear: I think this is the last of it from my father's estate. I have a whole bunch of Macrostat stuff, and I have actually been able to figure out what most of it is. This wasn't easy, even though I have a Macrostat guide (undated) and a complete 1983 Alpa catalogue.
But one item is defying me. It's a box containing fifteen translucent round ground glasses, 78.4mm in diameter. It has handwritten notations on the box: 'Ground glass for Macilu', 'Macilu glass', and Microplat ground glass'. I'm sure my father bought this from Karl Heitz Inc. when it was closing it's doors. It seems even the folks at Karl Heitz were confused about what these actually are.
I know the Macbag platform has a 105mm ground glass that's used as a mounting surface for macrophotography, but these 78.4mm glass rounds don't seem to fit it. Yeah, I've got a complete Macbag, but these don't seem anywhere close to fitting anywhere on it.
Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
