"Abstract" has come to mean "accidental results, limited intentions" too commonly.

I do NOT think... I just live in this house

the person who took over the strip in april
has gone back to the ernie bushmiller roots

Oh, so it will be less understandable and less humor. That is good to know so that we can avoid it and save our IQs.

John, I’m not following... are you talking to yourself? I’m only on my first Manhattan so maybe after another so will I talk to myself. If I don’t fall asleep first. Ha ha ha.

My latest alledged abstract.
8x10 camera, Fuji W 250/6.7, Kodak Copy Film @ ASA 25, Ilford Universal PQ Developer 1:9
Single transfer carbon print
From my Artist-in-residence at Zion National Park last April

Bunch of reflections off the print surface trying to photograph the print -- they blend in and change the image a lot, but hey -- its an abstract! One of these days, I'll flatten it and get a good reproduction of the print to share. Setting up a better way to do copy work wouldn't hurt either.

you are kind of funny
? you were reading it in the 1920s and 30s ?

1950's, 1960's, and 1970's for both Nancy and the Little King. Then I decided that I needed to stop damaging my brain and gave up reading them [also the Los Angeles Times got tired of getting complaints and dropped them.] Since you find Nancy funny and I realize that Massachusetts now allows marijuana, I realized that you must be smoking some truly bodacious righteous weed. Please send a kilo of it to me. Let me know what it cost so I can use PayPal to pay you back.

Odd Bodkins -- can't beat that for a great comic strip -- from the beatist of the beats in San Fran.

Thanks -- my best images tend to be when the What I am photographing does not overpower the Why and the light.

jtk,

I’ve lost track.

Is it annoying when a photographer calls themselves an artist?

When the call their photographs abstract?

Or the image itself?
