Hi all,

I'm thinking to get into some hybrid process and would like to give it a go to an all-in-one scanner/printer. As I don't own a laptop nor a PC only an iPhone and I'm wondering how to do this? So I scan the negatives, send them over to the phone by bluetooth (or what other possibilities do I have?) I adjust them in the phone and then send the info back to the scanner/printer and it will do the prints?Probably the scanner/printer comes with a software which is compatible with the iPhone/iOS.
Can I edit the photos in the software or do I need a separate one? I only do b&w so will adjust a bit of this and that like contrast or highlight/shadow but only if it really needs so no big fuss. Will I loose any quality before I print them? I’m not intending to store the photos in the phone but rather upload them in a cloud so this leads to another question which is how large are the photos megabytewise? I also would like to use smooth surface paper as well as rougher? Can I do this?
Also can you recommend me one or two which can produce decent results?
Sorry for these kinda dumb questions but I'm not really into digital stuff.

I couldn't live without my desktop machine, but in the Apple world the magic word appears to be "Airprint," a WiFi connection. Some printers have it, that's important to look for. There is also another way to connect, but you need at least a small cheap computer for a spooler. There's an app called PrinterPro which can be installed on a Windows desktop and on the iPhone or iPad, which shows up as a printer which various other apps can send to for printing. In general, as an olde DOS/Windoze guy, I find some of the iPad/iPhone stuff a bit frustrating, especially in regard to file management issues, but I guess with patience it can be done. I have the apps, because my wireless Canon color inkjet does not have the Airprint interface, but haven't really used them much beyond ascertaining that they work.

I honestly don't know if the phone or iPad can talk to the scanner -- my color machine is an all-in-one (Canon MG6300) and I have an iPhone 6s and an iPad Air 2, but have never even thought to try. Don't know if any of the all-in-ones use BlueTooth, but those sorts of specs are changing faster than my aging brain can keep up with! :whistling:

that’s a lot like trying to haul several tons of rock with a compact car. Can you do it? Eventually, sure. It’s better to use a truck though. A good desktop computer or laptop with a good scanner is the truck.

I chose public transport long ago.
