I found this on page 113 of volume VII from 1903-
From Mr Chapman Jones in the English Amateur Photographer:
4 oz. hypo
20-30 grains, Sod. Carbonate
1/4 oz. Sod. Sulphite
Fix until clear.
Then put into fresh batch of the same fixer. (2 bath fixing and an alkaline fix, at that!)
