Did it myself. Remember somebody recommending dipping the tip of the screw driver into a product then glazing it over the screw to help it keep in place. Now I forgot what the product was. Any tips?
Best to use red so you can see you need to remove it.
The adjusters are normally tight it is the optics that shift when you bang the camera.
It not use anything.
Incorrect. Loctite 242 is Blue and requires 40 inch pounds of torque to break loose.
271 is Red and requires the parts to be heated to 500°F to break once cured. http://www.loctiteproducts.com/threadlockers.shtml
I think he was suggesting red nail polish, not red loctite I've used red nail varnish myself to lock rangefinder adjustment screws. It doesn't crack off satisfactorily when you need it to though, there's some product which does that. I've always had to clean the site with nail varnish remover, and re-apply where necessary.
