I try to make it up to Algonquin Park each winter to shoot along the snow-shoe trails.
I'm heading up for a couple days on Friday Feb. 1 to Sunday Feb. 3rd.
If you're not busy feel free to join me. I'll be tenting during the evenings, but others might want to stay at the Wolf Den Lodge or at a Huntsville Hotel.

Anyone is welcome to come along. Let me know and we'll pick a meeting spot.
I plan to shoot some 8x10 but most likely will have a MF around as well.

Sorry Rob, can't make it

What was the temperature when that photo was taken? I'm guessing at least -15C?

Here's my -20C guaranteed to get you out of your sleeping bag in the morning drink; make a big mug of spearmint tea, add hot chocolate, instant coffee, then melt in 1/3 of a Mars Bar. You'll be jangling out of the bag and raring to go after you suck that back :D

I've got and old pair of snowshoes just like yours and they're great in deep snow and thick bush. (They're actually Algonquins aren't they?) The gut in mine are shot from all the wet snow we get here, and I've gone semi-modern with a wooden pair with a coated neoprene deck and gnarly teeth on the bottom.

Have fun - wish I were with you!

Murray

When that picture was taken a few years back it never got above -30 for four days.... plus it snowed two feet the first two days.

lucky you

Rob, I wish I could make it...I used to be the editor of the Barry's Bay newspaper and know the area well, including some of the lodge owners, etc. There is no place like Algonquin! You go and have fun; I'll be contacting you in a few weeks for my new Bessa R3M:D !
