Wow, what a career.!
I had heard his name for may years, and seen SOME of his pictures.
I bought one of his books a year ago, and was amazed by How Many pictures he took of all kinds of "Famous People" and for a long time.
I was not a professional photographer, but if i had been......

I've been a fan of Eisie, or at least his photography, since I was a kid. One story that I especially enjoyed was when he photographed President Clinton on Martha's Vineyard, as told by his friend William Marks. Eisie had Marks stand in as his assistant to change lenses, etc., due to Eisie's arthritis, as well as to take his own photos of the event. Eisie also wanted to have Marks photograph him with Clinton. But... as he repeatedly reminded Marks, this is something that I (Eisie) cannot ask, YOU (Marks) must ask. Read what happened near the bottom of this page:

As a note, this particular issue was dedicated to Eisenstaedt; you can find links here; hope you enjoy the reading: http://digitaljournalist.org/issue9911/contents.htm

A number of years ago (he was in his 80's) I had the pleasure of entertaining him for a day. He was very sharp remembering every event he photographed. After our outing he spent several hours at our house and below is a photo at dinner (I no longer have the beard and am now not too far from his age at the time of the photo :surprised:)

Thanks for all the responses and links.
It seems he and his career had a long and decent life... not to mention exciting and interesting.
