We have finally be able to schedule a firm date for the Southwest "Real World Scanning& Digital Workflow" Workshop. We will be holding the workshop the weekend of May 18th. We will be holding the workshop at The Sandia Preparatory Scool in Albuquerque. We will begin with an informal lunch for all who are available on Friday at around noon and then start the actual workshop Friday afternoon, continuing all day Saturday and Sunday. If enough folks are interested we will also orgainze an informal group to do a bit of shooting on Friday morning, using Polaroid T55 which can then be scanned during the workshop.

We will have a variety of scanners and printers available (e.g. Epson 4990 or V750, Microteck 1800f, and M1.). This is an intensive "hands-on" workshop and we will have 4 workstations, each with a scanner. The workstations will feed into one or two printers. We will definitely be able to print 13x19 and likely 16x20 (most likely printers are an HP B9180 and Epson 3800).

Because this is an intensive "hands on" workshop attndence is strictly limited to 8 participants. Please email me or Michael Mutmansky or Jim at Midwest for detailed information and/or check out the Scanning Workshop link on Midwest's website (www.mpex.com) or on my website (www.fourpointlanding.com .. click on Scanning Workshops). Note that we may have to add a small surcharge of $25 for this workshop to cover the much larger equipment shipping costs involved. Please let us hear from you as soon as possible as there is a lot of interest in this workshop.

Folks,

To follow up with Ted's post, we have interest from people about scanning for making digital negatives in this workshop, so this topic will be discussed to some degree.

If there is enough interest, I may be able to add a day to the workshop for digital negatives and alternative process printing. I'll need to look into facilities for doing alt processes, etc. but it is a possibility.

Regardless, as an experienced PT/PD and gum printer, I can discuss producing negatives for alt processes from several different perspectives, from traditionally enlarged negatives to digital negatives, and am familiar with several different digital negative approaches as well.

Please email me if you are interested, and if there are enough people, I may be able to make arrangements for a day-long demonstration.

-----

Also, I think we have four committed attendees already, so we are half full. If you are interested, please contact us soon to get on the 'maybe' list before it fills.
