I have a business trip next week, in which I will have an early morning meeting on Tuesday in Huntsville AL, and then have the rest of the day to make my way to Atlanta, GA. Does anybody have any suggestions for a nice photogenic route between the two? - I generally shoot B&W LF, although I may bring the MF camera on this trip to pare down the amount of stuff that I have to carry.

Look up the Little River Canyon on hwy 35 near Fort Payne, then theres also Desoto Falls, Cloudland Canyon in Ga, between LaFayette and Trenton. There's Rocktown near LaFayette, if you look in the regional forums you will find a thread on that with links and directions.
Going north on hwy 72 from Huntsville can get you to Russell Cave national Monument which has a nice view of the enormous cave entrace from the walking trail. The cave inside is a very interesting 'wild cave' one but as of late no one is being allowed in to explore.
Any one of the state roads going across from that area to I-75 has nice places where it goes over the mountains that can have nice views depending on the light.

Not necessarily for a photo op, but whilst you're in Atlanta, don't miss the Georgia Aquarium! It's worth a journey!

Also in Atlanta, if you like to shoot cemetery art, Oakland Cemetery has tons of it, in addition to lovely grounds. Photography is not discouraged there, so one can shoot in peace.

While in Atlanta, stop in Quality Camera see Jeff and buy a 8x10 Deardorff.

man oh day. i was late on this. I live in huntsville. The best places to shoot are in the middle of nowhere west of huntsville past Madison. Landscape, that is.
