Aki-Asahi covers. Quality issues?

Anyone using Aki-Asahi covers? The last batch I bought have issues. I think it's a change to the leather he is using. Might be thicker. Crinkles around corners so doesn't fit well and the leather splits open if bent too tight.

I complained but didn't get anywhere. Probably won't use again.

Probably not his fault but I ordered some over a month ago and they are essentially lost in the mail. He did offer to re-send.
In the mean time I ordered some from Hugostudio. I'll report back on the quality when they arrive.

I did an FX-3 recently that turned out fine, but forgot where I got the skins.

I've used Hugo. Mostly fine. One piece for a Yashica TLR didn't fit but they sent a replacement that did. I had issues with their red croc leather (ordered it for a friend...) - poor quality and dye came out. But others have been OK. Their postage to the UK is more than Aki charges. I may be using them more in the future.
