I don't know if anyone is interested, but I am forever being asked why air photography has proven to be such a powerful tool in finding and studying archaeological sites. Sorry if this is advertising, but two books of mine might be of interest: "Hadrian's Wall from the air" and "Rome's first frontier", both published by Tempus.
