After reading the replies on paterson tanks and reels I have ordered a set up. My question is do these reels require any different agitation techniques than standard stainless reels? I normally agitiate one full minute the first minute and then 5 seconds every 30 seconds there after with a standard inversion and twist method. I get very consistent and even negatives this way. The paterson instructions I have seen seem to indicate a rather different approach of minimal agitation. Is there a difference? RMolson

Your method is basically the one prescribed by Agfa. Ilford's is for 10 seconds every minute. Paterson's is for 20s at the start followed by 10s at the end of every minute. The end results are probably extremely similar. I usually take my instructions from the manufacturer of the developer rather than the manufacturer of the film. My advice is to use what works for you.
