I have the chance to purchase Agfa Silvertone film. There are fifty rolls. I've never used this film before. I wanted some opinions on it before I decided to purchase it.

Silvertone is rebranded APX. A very nice film in Rodinal.

I liked it but thought that the 400 speed film was too grainy with rodinal (and this is coming from someone who likes grain)

The grain was large. Nice film though, I liked it with D76.

Good I intend to develop in D-76 and I'm not terribly fond of grain, although if it turns out to be too grainy for me, I'll either work with that or sell it off.
Thanks for the input,

Try Microdol-X if you can find it. It will tame the grain and while you will lose a little film speed you'll have some smooth midtones. It's a good combination IMHO.
I really love Plus-X in Microdol-X.. Ahhh..

Silvertone 400 should work well in D76 straight, I liked it in DDX as well.
In Rodinal 1+50 and exposed as 200 it was not that bad.
Since I got those for about $1 each, never compalined.
