Do anyone of you folks use an Agfa Printon plate burner for alternative proceses? I have a chance to get one, but would like to know how to operate the thing. Is there any chance to get a manual somewhere? I tried searching on line, but without success so far.

Thanks,
Marko

There never was such as Agfa Printon, however there was Ansco Printon and Anscochrome Printon.

What was the use of that "burner"? Duplicating Printon?

I beg your pardon! I never heard of it, but thought you referred to the early colour print material Ansco offered from the 1940s on.

I should have checked for any different material of that name made by Agfa...
I just realized that there must have been something of that name as early as 1928. That name made some career.

That patent refers to a "halogen-metal lamp", what is ambiguous and could mean a halogen filled incandescent lamp.
I guess that patent rather refers to a metal-halide lamp, which is a type of light arc lamp.

(Who gave names to all that animals...?)

It never ocures to me, that l'll need a photo of the thing. I won't be in studio for some time ta take a picture, but to me it looks like something from 1990 or something like that. It have a computer to control the light output and something what looks like UV sensor, so there must be some way to control not only time, but light output as well. Do you think it would be wise to contact Agfa Gevaert? The contact form on their site is not going anywhere. And yes l know the thing operates on metal halide arc lamp.

Thanks! I'll try to contact them and let's see what will happen. But just in case,I'll get nothing: I'm still looking for advice how to operate light integrator on Agfa PRINTON CDL 1501.
