Hi All,

I've managed to grab a bottle of Agfa Multicontrast Developer for B&W prints for an extremely reasonable price. Does anyone have any comments on how this product compares to Ilford's multigrade print develolper? I've been using Ilford's product with satisfying results but I couldn't pass up this bargain.

Any thoughts?

No ideas on Ilfords but I like Agfas.

Lasts forever.

Prints look good.

I mix it 1:4 and replenish.

How do you replenish your Agfa developer?

Every so often the bottle of mixed developer drops too far. I mix up enough to fill the bottle back up to full. I wouldn't call it high tech but my stock bottle is a few years old [3? 4?] Just topped up every so often with fresh 1:4.

Sounds simple enough. Thanks for your thoughts.

I've been doing the same thing with Dektol, 1+2 from stock. Seems to be working fine. Prints are consistent from session to session by my eye, so I must be doing something right.
