I have a question about the controls built into this enlarger - Agfa C66 (which looks like a Durst 605 - except for added control panel on the back of the baseboard). There is a probe with a dial with a number scale from 0 to 7 for Sensitivity. There is a number dial for exposure with a scale from 2 to 100.
My question is - are these numbers seconds, or some type of exposure units??
I have done a number of test runs comparing to a stop watch, if these units are seconds, then the times are way off and not by a constant amount. Changing the probe settings does not seem to be linear either. The instuction sheet is very short on info about using the enlarger and refers to a test using a colour slide.
Would appreciate any insight into using the probe and exposure controls - I was planning on using this for B/W work.
Andrew, the OP of this thread has not been at Apug for two years now, do not expect him to reply.
Best hope would be on the very few others who ever had this enlarger in hand.
Otherwise, read the manual and play around with that integrated automatic timer to get wiser, or use an external timer as I hinted at in your other thread.
I am puzzled. In that other thread you explained that you got it running on continuous light (as in focusing). If then you put a classic enlarger timer-switch into its mains feed, it should work as any enlarger.
Did you use the right outlet at the timer-switch? (Some got two: enlarger and room-light)
Sorry for any confusion. If I plug the mains from the Agfa in to my timer it hums but the on button on the Agfa doesn't do anything and no light comes on.
I'm wondering if it's a voltage thing? I don't understand to be honest. Only ever used one enlarger and not electrical minded.
