Compared to the Wolfen plant it was miniscule. To be fair, at Wolfen also fibers were made. But even compared to Gevaert of that period it was small.

Ansco was the result of a merger between the Anthony co. and the photographic division of Scoville. Scoville was founded sometime shortly after the American Revolution to make brass buttons. The brass mills were very important in production of copper sheet used for Daguerreotypes. Scoville still exists today making fasteners in the US.
