The Agfa-Ansco 42 (see formula below) is said to be a soft-working formula for general purpose. According to Agfa, this developer must be used undiluted for 15 to 20 minutes at 20C.
I could'nt find more information on the net.
Does anyone have more information ? experience to share ? Developing time seems to be very long, even for old films.

Agfa-Ansco 42
Metol, 0.8 g
Sodium sulfite, 45.0 g
Hydroquinone, 1.2 g
Sodium carbonate, monoh. 8.0 g
Potassium metabisulfite, 4.0 g

no, not this particular one. However I have used "with others", with a lot of dilution and developed up to30 minutes. particularly with adox variotone. you can get a remarkable color shifts.

if you haven't looked into the darkroom cookbook, Its a good read. GENERAL THOUGHTS: it has sodium sulfite 45 grams, so its its silver dissolving/ reduction of grain size developer. as to the ph, its looks good, However 1.5 grams of KBR!!!! wow!!!!! like knock your block off/ per 1 liter. Thats a lot of restraining for film. some people metol/hydroquine as a developing agent others do not. so,. . . . verdict is out on that one. I also think there is alot of K + metabisulfate in their too. just my thoughts, quick at that.
