Hi,
I have just purchased my first 5x4 enlarger (Blumfield MKVII Masterprinter) which came with the AGFA AG1 head. However, I do not have any info to what the AGFA colour filterS correspond to (Durst, Kodak or Meopta) - I take a guess at Kodak, is that right?
Is it worth using the colur head for multigrade papers, - or should I stick with my ilford under lens filters? (I am currently rewirring the enlarger so can not 'suck it and see'.I have the standard head as well.

Regards,

Kram

I'd guess Durst. European head is more likely to follow an European make like Durst then Kodak.

Much nicer use the in head filters assuming thier good.

I have found out from the Black and white handbook by R.Hicks and F.Scutts -that Agfa had there own gradings different from anyone else, but it gives the multigrade values to colour filter grades in the book -phew.

Dear Kram,

Free yourself from the shackles of paper grades! :>) If you need more contrast add magenta (or blue if it's that sort of enlarger). If you need less, go the other way.
