But your sample is not swivelling. With S-8 cameras one often gets a handstrap for free. And their fasteners are swivelling, protecting the strap from twisting out the tripod screw, in spite of the rubber ring.

Indeed, and I like the non swivel for smaller cameras. But I have swiveling tripod mounts too, as well as swiveling carabiners and spring loaded clip hooks.
I never had a tripod mount sling work its way loose. I check them often, out of habit.
I find myself with a number of SLRs.
Some light bodies could work with a tripod-mount wrist strap, but the older, heavier bodies (Canon FT, Konica Auto) need a strap.
What is out there, affordable and versatile?
Another OP/TECH fan here. I like their basic strap because it’s very reasonably priced and I can just buy one for each camera. I also picked up a Perrin Leathers Stap the other day because they are totally cool and I decided I wanted something a little more stylish for my F4. https://perris.ca/product-category/camera-straps/
It depends of the angulair moment of inertia. With heavy cameras as a Bolex Macrozoom such screw from a handsling can get untwisted. (The same time I rather have not hanging this thing at my chest, though sometimes I had to.)
