IS there a good half way affordable scanner out there that can handle 6x7 sized negatives in a half way good quality. I wouldn't want to spend much more than 500 USD. What is the best bang for the buck in that pricerange?

I suspect the Epson V700 would be your current best bet in that range. B&H is selling it for $520. I keep reading about a new Microtek, the M1, allegedly due in June, but have no other info on it. You might want to do some searching. I also do not know the predicted price, but I suspect it may be close to your request.

Good luck.

The Epson V700 is a pretty good option, unless you want to try and find an older, second hand dedicated film scanner.

I'm more than happy with mine.
