I have a D70 with the slow kit zoom lens. I want to buy a faster prime lens. Looking at a 28mm AF-Nikkor, because they are cheap. I think this will be approximately normal on the DX sensor, and if I want to use it on a film camera I can. The only thing is will it work ok on the D70? Am I giving up a lot of automation features by using such an old lens? It's not even an AF-D, but does that really matter?

It will work fine with the D70, since it has a focus motor. Theoretically the flash metering will be a bit more limited without the D lens feature, but I've never saw a difference in the results with non D lenses.

I used my D70 with a 20,24,35and50mm AFD without issues.:smile:but I never owned a 28mm lens:sad:
