I recently came into possession of an X-700 with a Tokina 35-70mm zoom. However, I have four Takumar M42 lenses that I'd like to use with an adapter sold by B&H Photo. Of course, the adapter requires forces manual aperture on the lenses so I would like to know if this will still allow the Minolta to choose the correct shutter speed using some kind of stopped-down metering or such. I can't seem to find it in the camera's manual, so does anyone know if these will work?

Yes, the X-700 works on the light available in "A" mode. Go ahead and use your screw mount lenses.
