Advise Needed: Bag for Fuji GW690II

I recently acquired a Fuji GW690II. I'm looking for suggestions for a shoulder bag that fits this camera, a very small meter (Sekonic TwinMate), and maybe a couple of rolls of film. I do have a couple of bags but they are larger than necessary and I want to keep the bag as small as reasonable.

Right now it's in a LowePro Nova Sport 17L with is 12" (long) x 9" (tall) x 6" (deep). So I'm trying to get smaller than that without having to wedge the camera in the bag.

So if you have actual experience with one of the 690 variants and a bag, I'd appreciate your suggestions. TIA.

Mine have ways fit well in the domke small messanger bag or there is a domke bag which is the same height but half the width of a standard messenger bag whose name escapes me. Easy to carry though and very light beIN made of canvas. I actually pulled the inserts out and left padding in the bottom. This seems to work well

I just bought a Lowepro Nova 200 AW bag specifically for my Fuji GSW680. The camera fits well when the velcro panels nicely arranged. The left over space accepts a spot-meter and I can also squeeze in a little Seagull TLR for infrared film shooting. The bag was amazingly cheap on eBay, about $50.

Another option: My GW690II fits nicely in an old LowePro Nova 4 bag. And there is room for light meter, filters, even a small rangefinder camera if you want. I fished it out of the throw-out pile at the office years ago. A Nova 3 would also work. These early Nova bags were nicely designed, just the basics and good-quality zippers and fittings. They may be so old, they were made in USA. The 3 and 4 are common on the big auction site, pretty cheap. My Hasselblad and 2 extra lenses, filters, etc., fit nicely in a Nova 5AW bag.

I'll look into the messenger style bags. They may be larger than I need but at least slimmer than what I have now. I do have one (with an insert) I use for a slr with 2 lenses and flash, plus a thin laptop, but it's larger than I want for this purpose.

That bag is larger than what I have now. But I'll take a look at that one.

The Nova 4 is about the size of my current bag. But looks like it might be about to squeeze into the Nova 3.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm about 110 miles from any store with a selection so this is really useful.

Have you checked out tamrac's line up. They are verry well padded. I have 4 filled with cameras. I ❤ mine. Been using tamrac scince the 80's.

I carry mine around in either the Domke F2 or Billingham f-stop. There is more than enough room for a meter, film, etc.

Funny you should write this, I was in literally the exact same situation last week. I bought a benro traveller s100. Absolutely perfect for the task.

Looks like a nice bag though I can't yet find any US retailers. Do you have the open the zipper to expand the bag to fit the 690?

Don't know if it would work for your application, but I acquired a Domke F-5XB before my trek to Europe in April. It's a sort of mini-messenger bag with a couple of Velcro-equipped padded dividers that can be moved around. I set them up to cradle a Canon EOS M-5 with an 18-250 zoom, lens pointed down. It had room for another lens, coiled up neck strap, battery packs/film, etc. (There's a small pocket across the front.) It's small-ish, but a nice size to carry a few trinkets without looking like a beast of burden. I got the olive drab sort, and removed the diagonal "Domke" ribbon from the flap to be even less conspicuous. It can be carried via the supplied shoulder belt or a waist belt.

Based on specs, too narrow for my Fuji regardless of how I orient it.

You don't need to expand it open, but I did remove the internal foam. The sides are padded, so it offers adequate protection. The GW690ii fits comfortably, and you can even squeeze in a flashgun if need be.

Edit: Just checked, it also fits with the internal foam compartment (but with the foam dividers removed). Again, don't need to use the expansion feature.

Edit 2: It turns out it doesn't expand. The zip reveals a couple of extra pouches to hide stuff.
