I admit, I churn a bunch of this stuff, since the way it sells on ebay is so silly, with sellers not knowing whether or not the stuff works, and then these classic cameras go for pennies on the dollar. Basically, I bought all of these cameras while undertaking some risk that some or all of them might be broken in ways I couldn't fix. It turns out all 3 of these are fully working, and their actual condition was under-described - which an educated understanding of ebay has shown me when this is likely, rather than a seller who deceptively is "over-describing" them - You've all seen it: "I couldn't test the meter because I haven't got any batteries so I'm selling it As Is but it's in mint condition - yada yada yada". I basically have already re-sealed and fully checked out the cameras, and I'm going to turn around and re-sell the A-1, fully tested, re-sealed and accurately described, and guaranteed to work, and end up nearly totally funding the purchase of the 2 Minoltas with it. One thing about ebay - it does give someone who's highly knowledgeable about the gear the opportunity to add value, as much of this stuff is sold by people who are not knowledgeable at all.
Plus this way, I get to handle, and learn about, and fondle and use for a short time, classic gear that I couldn't afford way back when it was new. That's how I treat a chronic case of GAS that would otherwise be terminal.
