Does anyone know what is going on with Adox? Their website doesn't seem to have had any update for half a year or so and I am hoping their efforts to move production to more viable sites for the MCC paper and the long awaited Polywarmtone revamp are going well. I signed up for the newsletter but have not received anything yet nor can I see any contact details on the site or I would have asked there. I see fotoimpex has no stock of any paper at all though one variety (the silver chloride contact print paper) may be coming later this month. I take this as a hopeful sign but would love more concrete information if anyone can share it.
Otherwise it looks like Ilford will become a monopoly in the near future and with two price rises this year it's worrying...
great: very encouraging! thank you.AFAIK they are still working on it. My guess is the pandemic complicated getting the Marly plant online and doing the paper run. They released newly manufactured CHS II films in 35mm this summer. Here's an interesting tour of the Marly plant from 1 year ago.
thanks but as far as I have seen it's all out of stock and special order...It may be that you mention Fotoimpex as having no paper simply as a worrying sign but if you are looking for paper then the first U.K. stockist I checked, namely Agphotographic has both MCC and MCP in various sizes in stock

My apologies The initial part of the Agphotographic website listed it and I stopped there but having gone further it does then say out of stock I had expected this to be said on the opening stage of its website about Adox paperthanks but as far as I have seen it's all out of stock and special order...
It might depend on which stockist you use. The out of stock prices of 5x7 MCC at AgPhotographic are considerably more that the comparable Ilford Classic FB 5x7 so at least at Ag, Ilford is considerably cheaper than Adox was The gap will grow if Adox has to raise prices due to its having to take back that stage of production that was once contracted out..In any event I will stand by and hope the MCC and MCP resurface soon and hopefully not hugely more expensive than Ilford's already pricey options this time...
Not interested personally in Lupex and wonder why that is coming first as it seems very niche but must be for technical reasons...
That makes sense but on the other hand it must be a much much smaller market I would have thought. Then again it would appear to all be for a very small market these days...It's a single chloride emulsion, in a single emulsion layer + topcoat structure. MCC & Polywarmtone have multiple emulsion, multilayer coating packages that are much more time consuming to implement and get working according to design spec (as you'll have seen from Adox's documentation of the Polywarmtone work).

Yup. All black and white baryta first-tier paper is coated upon the same Schoeller base:...I wonder if they all use the same expensive base...
If they're using the Marly machine (as opposed to the Bad Saarow one, if it's been commissioned yet), they can coat up to about 21" width,
