Recently I ordered the new ADOX 312 paper for a beginning photo class I teach. This weekend I printed one of my own negatives with the paper and discovered the OC safelight was reducing contrast on 312. After making safe light adjustments I re-printed the same image on 312 RC and again on EMAKS grade 3 fiber. Both prints were toned in used KRST 1:20 for 3 min. Much to my surprise both prints look identical in tone and contrast. I looked for the typical RC lack of micro contrast or muddy blacks and did not see any real difference between the two. EMAKS fiber did have the better looking paper surface. Regardless, I'm impressed with the new ADOX product and plan to order the paper for class and personal use. Anyone have any other observations or comparisons.
