Adox 4x5 question

Hi all--
I have a question that I am hoping someone here can help me with. I bought some film from J&C right at the end of J&C...I ordered ortho film, but the film shipped was marked Adox Print Film 100 emulsion: 510770. I assume I got the wrong film and didn't get a reply from J&C (understandably--no problem there!) Basically, I am wondering if anyone knows the notch codes for Adox so I can figure out what I have.

All the Adox film I've used has had the same simple notch and appears to be un-coded.

You'll have to test a sheet or two but have a look at Dead Link Removed chnaces are you have what you ordered .

The Recommended developer given is the old version of Rodinal. Adox APH09

It's not totally unknown for the odd pack of Adox to have been mislabelled (and I mean that in the most affectionate way, it's what assures you there are real human beings making it) so you may well have what was specified, it's got to be a test!

I have two packs of Adox Print Film in front of me.. It is thinner than normal sheet film (measured at 0.12mm) and does not have any notches.

The emulsion is the same as that found on (some) of their papers, so is slow and very easily scratched. It also means you can develop by inspection under an ordinary red safelight with regular paper chemicals.


Side Note: The packs I have are nominally, 5x4, emulsion No. 510771 in packs of 10.

Which is pretty strong evidence that it is,in fact, ortho.
