Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024

Why are all of my imported photos in a new copy of Photoshop Elements 2024 (hour old) extremely pixelated?

Imported from where? Did you check the resolution of the original photos?

Not sure what happened the first time. I re-imported and everything was fine (all raw files).

I upgraded and cannot get the Organizer to stay open. it opens, loads all the files, displays the files, then closes. Tried all the previous Adobe fixes to no avail. Is there a limit on how many files the Organizer can handle?

For less than the cost of Elements, you can buy a copy of Affinity Photo, which has the power of Photoshop and uses most of the same tools and keyboard shortcuts. I used Elements for nearly 20 years before making the switch, and I kick myself for taking so long to ditch Adobe’s inferior and more expensive product.

Affinity Photo costs less ($69, no subscription fees) than Elements, but compares in features to the full Photoshop. It was first published in 2009 as a Mac-only alternative to PS, but has since been ported over to Windows and IOS. I love it.

So did I when I bought Affinity. But I bought Affinity once. I had to buy Elements several times, because Adobe would stop supporting older Elements for newer Mac OS versions.

I offered Affinity as a substitute because I hate Adobe's business practices. The subscription model for PS is a ripoff for ordinary consumers. And even when you are able to "buy" a program outright, like Elements, you have to repurchase the program every few years because Adobe doesn't update the programs to run with newer computers.

Affinity does nearly everything PS does for most photographers, on a better-written platform, at a tiny fraction of the cost. To me there's no reason at all to keep feeding Adobe. They've done nothing to earn our loyalty.
