Greetings all,

Just a quick FYI to any of those who live in the greater Adelaide Metro area and are not on our mailing list.

Next Monday night, 17th of June, The Adelaide Film And Dark Room Users Group is getting together for an informal chat over a couple of beers (or wine or scotch….drink responsibly) @ The Gilbert Street Hotel, 88 Gilbert Street, Adelaide, from 7:30 PM. We will be meeting upstairs in the smaller room on the right.

People are more than welcome to bring along any prints that you would like to talk about. Also, feel free to bring along any gear, new or old, that they would like to show off, ect.

If any members of APUG who are in the area would like to come along, please feel free. You are all welcome. The last few times we have only had a handful of people along, so the more the merrier!

If you want any further details, please send me a PM and I will be happy to fill you in

Cheers
Ashley

Going to be in Adelaide tomorrow night, I'll call in if get into city on time. What time do you finish up?
What's the nearest cross street to the hotel?

Howdy,

We should be there till probably around 9.

The Gilbert Street Hotel is slap bang right between King William Street and Morphett Street on Gilbert Street. The street that it corners on to is call Russell Street.

We will be up stairs (through the front bar, up the stairs) and in the room on your right.

It would be good if you can pop in and say high.

I will PM you my number.

Cheers

What's the mailing list where I can just get it straight to my gmail? PM me and I'll give you an email address.

Theoretically yes (at least on email) but there has been no meeting in about 9 months.

Thanks for your reply. Bummer about the meetings......

I would love to get on the email list. How may I do so?

Yeah, I'm always up for a meetup. Been trying to discover random national parks and such with the missus on weekends as it is. Not sure if there are any Birders here, but Lobethal Bushland Park is full of them. Just heading off now to see what Shepherd's Hill and Watiparinga have going for them while the sun's still out.

I'm actually a bit of a fan of Scotts Creek NP, especially around the old mine. Maybe that's worth a try.

Yep, know that place very well, my ex lived around the corner from it. What time of year do all the orchids come out?

Anyone in ADL who wants to sign up can do so directly, though you might have to wait half a day until Hoffy or I push the "Accept Noob" button.

I'm definitely up for an outing of a weekend, but I might need some notice in order to escape the kidlets, and/or bring one with me. Given my location, the east/northeast is definitely favourable. Newmans nursery ruins (Anstey Hill) are kind of nice in the winter sunshine, and it's a good solid 20 minutes of uphill walking to get there (I have some shots from there but it's nearly all 4x5 C41 and I can't really scan those at the moment; I need to make up my next RA4 batch). Morialta Barns is nice if you like semi-ruined stonework animal pens and blackberry. I've got a few more (4x5 CHS100) from there that I should get around to developing soon...

OK, lets pick a weekend and do it!

Polyglot, how much notice do you need?

Dr, are you up for it?

I have a preference for Sunday's. Does anyone else have a preference?

BTW, I went to Scotts Creek early yesterday morning. Boy, have the vandals gone to town with the Graffiti. Hardly a stone wall surface that doesn't have some paint on it.

Sundays are good but I think weather matters more than day; you can expect me to have an entourage either way. Places with paths that will support a big pram (it has big wheels too, so slightly rough paths are OK) are definitely favored! If I'm bringing everyone, very little notice is required but if I want to get away on my own, that's a lot harder.

Another option: there are a bunch of basically-abandoned railway stations on the line that runs through the hills. Might be the odd fence, might not, I haven't checked.
